Aquator - Simulation of Water Resource Systems

Catchments

As an alternative to providing catchment flows as a time series attached to the standard Aquator Catchment component, a catchment model, enhanced to be an Aquator component, may be used.

Users of a compatible version of the HYSIM© catchment model will automatically find an additional component on the Aquator toolbar – the HYSIM catchment. This HYSIM component may be used to supply river flows anywhere in the project. HYSIM groundwater storage can be adjusted with VBA to simulate abstractions.

Thames Water have developed an Aquator component to simulate the behaviour of chalk and limestone aquifer units in the Thames basin. Abstractions from these components reduce river flows from the Aquifer.

Other catchment models can be included as Aquator components on request.
